Below you will find a list of Lodge Rules & Regulations aswell as General Reserve Rules.

Covid Reminder

We remind guests to respect social distancing guidance while they are on the reserve and to wear a mask at all times

  • Guests are reminded to keep hygiene front of mind although they are isolated in a stand-alone lodge in the bush.
  • We clean and sanitize the lodge before arrival and after departure.
  • No daily cleaning as we have a “no-contact” rule.
  • The lodge is self-catering, and we urge guests to bring their own sanitizers, disinfectants, and cleaning materials to use for the duration of their stay.

Lodge Rules

  • The lodge is self-catering. Guests must bring all consumables (food, water, sanitisers, disinfectants, bath soap, wood, dish soap, etc).
  • Please do not leave any valuables unattended in your unit. No liability is accepted.
  • There is a safe in the lodge. The Code will be submitted to the Tenant with the Arrival Information or per SMS.
  • We have a NO NOISE and NO MUSIC POLICY which applies to every day and to 24 hours a day. NO EXCEPTION.
  • Music and Hi-fi systems are not permitted inside or outside accommodation units and will be removed.
  • We do not allow any parties in our lodges (bachelor parties, year-end parties, etc). Penalties/fines may be imposed by the Home Owners Association or guests/tenant may be asked to leave the reserve. No refund will be processed in this case.
  • No car hooting and engine revving.
  • No exceeding of number of persons allowed as per the rental agreement. Penalties may apply or Tenant and guests may be removed from the Reserve.
  • No day visitors allowed without permission from the lodge owner or booking agent.
  • Furniture, linen, and utensils may not be removed from the unit.
  • Doors and windows must be closed when leaving the lodge unattended, to prevent wildlife causing damage and possible theft.
  • No open fires are permitted except at designated areas at the lodges and communal entertainment areas on the reserve.
  • Ensure all fires are totally extinguished after use.

Arrival & Departure

Arrival between 14h00 and 21h00.
Departure – 10h00.



  • No spotlights allowed at night. Fines will be imposed, and lights rendered unusable.
  • Animals are roaming freely on the resort and therefor speed limits must be adhered to, to
    Avoid fines and to protect our animals and other guests.
  • Speed limit on Main road strictly is 40 km/h and on Game viewing and Camp roads
    Strictly is 20 km/h.
  • Tenant / guests are allowed to traverse in specific areas, with a valid permit issued by
    The Mabalingwe reception office.
  • All persons driving a vehicle on Mabalingwe must have a valid driver’s license.
  • All vehicles must stay on the demarcated roads. No off-road driving allowed.

General Reserve Rules

  • The reserve offers enough natural food for our animals, please do not feed them.
  • Please keep our environment clean, use the litter bins that are provided.
  • Please respect all animals, trees, plants and birds and do not remove anything out of its natural habitat. This includes fishing, hunting and the collection of firewood. No excavation or removal of any soil is allowed.
  • No one is allowed to walk around or ride a bicycle on the reserve, outside direct lodge area. If you decide to do so, it is at your own risk. Wild animals are extremely dangerous, and your safety is important to us.
  • Due to veterinary requirements no domestic animals are allowed on the resort. Animals will be removed upon arrival.
  • All firearms must be locked away in electronic safes at the main reception building.
  • Swimming is restricted to pools only. No swimming allowed in any dam or river.
  • All children must be supervised by an adult at the pools on the reserve and at the lodge.
  • No motorbikes or quad bikes are allowed on the Reserve.
  • Alcohol is only allowed in your unit/lodge.
  • Please respect the “NO ENTRY’ signs on the Reserve.
  • All guests taking part in activities on the Reserve must sign the Resort Indemnity which will be given to them at the Mabalingwe reception when they book activities.
